Q. The picture does not fit the screen on my TV

A. Customer has pushed the aspect button in the upper right hand corner of the remote. You can also go to Menu > System Settings > Video Setting > and set aspect to full.

Q. The time is not right on my programming.

A. Customer need to go into the System settings and then Common use and change the time to GMT -5:00 during Daylight saving time and GMT -6:00 for Standard time. This is doneunder the System Settings Common Use menu.

Q. When I push my EPG button it counts down from 120 seconds.

A. The customer need to let it count all the way down in order for it to stop doing that. This will happen every time they power cycle the set top box

Q. My TV doesn't work and the front of my set top is showing me the time and not the channel.

A. Customer has pushed the power button on the remote and put the set top on standby.

Q. The LED light on the front panel does not light up.

A. Check the outlet, and make sure the outlet is working.

Q. No sound or video, but the front panel red light is ON.

A. Check the cable connections, press the standby button on the remote to turn the set top box on.

Q. I accidentally factory defaulted my set top.

A. Customer will need to power cycle the set top and go through the program search. Starting with Freq. 297 for town customers and 303 for rural.

Q. I moved my set top to clean and now I hooked it back up and it won't work.

A. Customer needs to check cabling. The input needs to be on (Ant.In) not (RF In) on the set top.

Q. I have my TV volume all the way up and I can barley hear it.

A. Customer need to turn volume up using the set top remote.

Q. I have a loud buzzing on my TV

A. Customers TV is turned up too loud. They need to turn volume down on TV and up on the Set top

Q. Why when I enter the EPG it does not display any Guide info.

A. You need to allow the set top to count down the 120 seconds for it to retrieve the data from the system. To avoid having to do this put your set top in standby mode by pressing power button on the remote and it will retrieve info then.


Q. No signal when selecting channels.

A. Make sure connections are correct. The unit will automatically search program, please wait a few minutes, or select auto search by pressing Menu > Program Search > Auto Search


Q. I have sound but no video

A. Make sure the video cable is connected securely.

Q. Picture is still or tiling.

A. Check if the signal cord has been connected tightly

Q. The Remote does not work.

A. Aim at the sensor on the front panel of the set top, if that doesn't work, change the battery.

Q. Time of auto search is too long.

A. You can use the manual search if you like.

Q. When switching the channel, the display time of the channel bar is too long.

A. Reset time by going to Menu > System settings > Common use  Time can be set from 2 seconds to 12 seconds

Q. Sound of some programs is strong, but it is weak in some programs.

A. The audio standard of each channel is set by the Headend, so there will be some differences among the channels.

Q. Lock indicator lights up, but program cannot be viewed. Screen displays “Please insert your card”

A. Re-insert the Smart Card if you have paid for that programming, otherwise call customer service if you would like to subscribe to that package.

Q. Video only, no sound

A. Make sure cables are securely connected or Press mute key on the remote to restore volume or Increase the volume to a suitable level or  Go to Menu > System Setting > Audio Setting > Make sure that Dolby is selected

Q. Channels 6, 54, and 106 voices are garbled.

A. Have the customer press the RED button on the remote labled AUDIO R/L. If this doesn't work, factory default the set top box. Menu > Installation> Factory Default - enter zero on the remote...4 times. After completed do a channel search by selecting Menu > Installation> Program Search. Power cycle the set top and go through the program search. Starting with Freq. 297 for town customers and 303 for rural.

Q. Closed captioning will not work on my TV

A. Make sure closed captioning is turned on the television set to Make sure closed captioning is turned on the set top box. Go to Menu > System Settings > Video Setting (set closed captioning to on)

Q. There is a yellow envelope in the upper right hand corner of my screen.

A. You have mail. Go to Menu > System Information > Mail, to open your message. You will need to delete the message before the envelope will go away. To do this, hit the red Audio R/L button while you are in the e-mail system.
